WHAT IS WILDLIFE WATCH? Wildlife Watch is the junior branch of the Wildlife Trusts, and is the UK's leading club for young environmentalists. Each trust runs groups that aim to:
Some clubs meet once a week, others once a month. Whether you like your wildlife furry, feathered or creepy crawly, there will be something on offer for everyone. A wide range of activities is organised that stimulate interest in the natural world and encourage learning in an informal atmosphere. Wildlife Watchers make bird feeders, write nature diaries, create dens in the woods, collect and plant acorns, search for mammal tracks and signs, look for bats and bugs and go pond dipping. As part of the meetings children are encouraged to work towards Gold Awards which recognise and reward achievements of members. |
Wildlife Watch events take place all around the county. See HERE for Shropshire's Go wild events. Watch groups are run by registered leaders who are quite often volunteers. Anyone who enjoys working with children and has an interest in the natural world can apply to become a Watch leader. We are always looking for people who would like to get involved - maybe you would like to start your own group? For more information on joining or starting a group please contact the Wildlife Watch Organiser. ![]() |
