Wardens act as the Trust's eyes and ears, regularly visiting the nature reserves and letting us know of any problems that need our attention.
No specialist knowledge is needed, just an appreciation of the reserve as a special place.
The role of warden is a varied one, including the recording of wildlife, talking to people who visit the reserve and getting involved in practical maintenance and conservation work. Wardens work closely with our reserves staff, who also provide training and organise local wardens' groups to discuss site management, species sightings and any problems. You will also be invited to the annual Wardens' Day.
