Wild children

Tree house at Wood LaneWe believe exploring the natural world is an essential part of childhood. Our aim is to give all children opportunities to enjoy being outside and to discover wildlife. We do this in two ways: by working with schools in term time and families during half term, holidays and at weekends.

Every year we work with over 1,000 children around the county, giving them a chance to enjoy wild places, opening their eyes to the natural world around them.

Look in the What's on section for children's events and workshops, run throughout the year.

Stephen Moss has written an insightful report on this topic for the National Trust called Natural Childhood
