Join us for an engaging and insightful talk with Grania Miller and Pip Elms as they explore the rich history, current importance, and future prospects of one of Ellesmere’s most treasured natural spaces — Plantation Wood.
About the event
Tucked away off Sandy Lane, Plantation Wood is a small but remarkable 3-hectare patch of semi-natural woodland. Thought to be a fragment of ancient woodland, it now stands as a vital refuge for wildlife, surrounded by agricultural land.
In this illustrated talk, Grania and Pip will guide you through the woodland’s fascinating journey — from its historical roots to its role today as a thriving habitat, and what lies ahead for its conservation.
