Land Management Advice
We believe that feeding a nation and restoring nature can go hand in hand. With sustainable and regenerative practices, farmers and land managers can maintain productivity, make the most of their land and create a greener future.
Shropshire Wildlife Trust have been working with farmers for many years and we understand that farming is a livelihood that is dependent on many complex factors like climate, weather, politics and trade. Historically, the pressure for high production and emphasis on subsidies has shifted farming away from the traditional practices that previously benefited nature.
Farmers and landowners are caretakers of much of the UKs land and many want to manage their land in a way that supports nature, for the benefit of future generations and to safeguard food production in the UK. We know that, often multi-generational, knowledge of species, habitats and practices are already being used on farms across Shropshire and that each farm has unique experience, needs and priorities.
As the leading environmental charity in Shropshire and part of The Wildlife Trusts movement, we have deep local insight, backed by national research and collective wisdom.
