About Depave Oswestry
Depave Oswestry supports the local community to remove redundant hard surfaces across the town and replace them with community-, water- and nature-friendly alternatives.
The project is led by the Community Empowerment Officer at Shropshire Wildlife Trust and is one of the Severn Valley Water Management Scheme’s demonstrator projects, managed by Shropshire Council.
By depaving areas such as unused concrete and tarmac, the project helps:
- Reduce surface water flooding
- Improve biodiversity
- Create greener, more welcoming community spaces
Who is it for?
This event is open to:
- Local residents
- Community groups
- Volunteers
- Anyone interested in nature, climate resilience or improving local spaces
No prior knowledge is needed.
