About the event

Initially we are looking for volunteers based in Oswestry/Gobowen and Shrewsbury (but hope to expand across Shropshire over the next few months). Once trained you will be matched with an individual within your local area identified as being lonely who you will visit once a week to chat about garden birds and top up bird feeders. This project has proven in the past to have huge benefits for all involved.

Training takes place over one day and by the end of it you will be ready to be matched. Training equips you with the knowledge and confidence to be able to carry out a visit to an individual at their home, as well as providing basic bird identification skills.

For a chat about the project and to reserve a place on the training session please contact Diane Monether, Feed the Birds project officer - dianem@shropshirewildlifetrust.org.uk or call 01743 284 271

If you live in Telford and would like to volunteer on the project please contact Kerry Davies - kerry.davies@telford.gov.uk
