The 2025 AGM will be held on Saturday 11th October 2025 at 10.30am.
The meeting will be held at The Cut Visitor Centre in Shrewsbury.
Following the AGM there will be presentations from Shropshire Wildlife Trust staff on significant achievements in 2024-25.
This will be followed by a talk from Rob McBride, renowned media campaigner for ancient trees.
About the presenter
Also known as the Tree Hunter, Rob McBride is a renowned media ambassador & campaigner for Ancient Trees, as well as being a volunteer verifier for the Woodland Trust’s Ancient Tree Inventory. Rob has recorded over 4,000 trees, many in Shropshire.
His successful campaigns have included the saving of the Brimmon Oak in Newtown, Powys, which then went on to become UK Tree of the Year and runner-up European Tree of the Year 2017. He has also campaigned to save the Darwin Oak in Shrewsbury from felling for the, hopefully soon-to-be-cancelled, North West Relief Road.
Rob has completed the UK’s first National Trail survey for ancient and veteran trees. After 13 years walking, measuring and photographing the trees along the route he completed the task on 23rd April 2021. Since then he has been writing of the trees, people and culture he encountered along the Dyke.
