We are really excited to be part of creating Our Bright Future. As one of 31 projects across the UK Shropshire Wildlife Trust and partners were awarded around £1 million to create the Growing Confidence Project aiming to inspire young people to step up as the next generation of environmental leaders.
We are working together with Fordhall Community Land Initiative, Field Studies Council - Preston Montford and The Plunkett Foundation to offer a wide range of inspiring opportunities discovering new skills, trying conservation work and exploring local wild spaces.
- We are offering skills building opportunities across the year ranging from bee identification to bush craft and dry stone walling.
- We are working with individuals, groups, schools, colleges and universities to work towards John Muir Awards, discovering, exploring and conserving local wild spaces together and sharing those experiences with others.
- Anyone hooked on the environment and wildlife can take part in specialist training using the expertise of the Field Studies Council at day or residential courses.
- Environmental careers can be an option for anyone with the right experience and passion; work experience is offered with all partners and The Plunkett Foundation is offering workshops and mentoring exploring the possibility of social enterprise opportunities.
